The Didjeridoo

Created by the Aboriginal Australians over 40,000 years ago, the didjeridoo (also known as the didj, didgeridoo or didgeridu) is commonly accepted as the world's oldest wind instrument. It is played with the unique and challenging "circular breathing" method, which involves inhaling and exhaling simultaneously.

The didj's melodic, tonally layered, powerfully uplifting and grounding tones have been shown to carry the listener into the alpha and theta states of brain activity (associated with deep relaxation and meditation) within a few minutes, and are increasingly popular today for both musical and healing purposes.
